Abstract Tennis elbow (TE) is lateral epicondylagia ,which often referred to as epicondylitis or tendinopathy . TE characterized by localized pain over the lateral epicondyle which is made worse with resisted grtipping and resisted wrist extension . The term epicondylitis has recently been considered a misnomer because a lack of inflammatory signs. The repetitive use of the extensor muscles of the forearm can cause acute or chronic tendonitis of the tendinous insertion of these muscles at the lateral epicondyle of the elbow. The condition is common in carpenters and other laborers who swing a hammer or other tool with the forearm. More common in patients aged 35 to 55 years. The condition affects between 1% and 3% of the population . It is usually self-limiting, and lasts between 6 and 24 months. 20% percent of cases persist for more than a year. |
