Abstract The cochlear implantation has radically changed the outlook for profoundly deaf adults. The cochlear implant can provide sufficient hearing sensations to enable most severely or profoundly deafened persons to continue communicating using speech as their primary means of communication. The aim of this study was to evaluate the outcome of Cochlear Implant (CI) cases. In the present study we searched and analyzed the outcomes , postoperative complications and major and minor complication of cochlear implantation . The present study analyzed articles selected from 7302 articles and abstracts according to the previously selected inclusion criteria. There are 18 studies fulfillng our inclusion criteria as the following , 5 articles about speech perception outcome ,3 articles about postoperative complications in eldery and young adults ,2 articles about the major and minor complications in eldery ,3 articles about the complications of the Suprameatal Approach and Mastoidectomy with Posterior Tympanotomy Approach, and 5 articles about quality of life. Speech perception was significantly improved for open set word perception and sentence perception in quiet after the surgery. All age |
