Abstract

This study was carried out in a broiler farm under the supervision of Animal Production Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University from May to July 2015 to investigate the effects of replacing dietary soybean meal (SBM) protein with different levels of jojoba meal treated by Lactobacillus acidophilus or Tricoderma ressie and untreated jojoba meal on the growth performance, feed utilization, blood biochemical profiles and immune response of Ross x Ross broilers. Three hundred and sixty one-day old Ross x Ross were equally divided randomly according to their weights into eight equal experimental groups with three replicates of 15 birds each. First chicks group was fed on control diet (T1), whereas, group 2 (T2), 3 (T3) and 4(T4) were fed on diets containing JM treated bylactobacillus acidophilus (5, 10 and 15%, respectively), depends on soybean meal protein, while groups 5 (T5), 6 (T6) and 7 (T7) were fed on diets containing JM treated by Trichoderma Ressie (5, 10 and 15%, respectively), depends on soybean meal protein. group 8 (T8) was fed on diet contain untreated JM. All birds were subjected to the same managerial, hygienic and environmental conditions. The birds were grown in floor litter condition and subjected to 24 hrs which extended to 6 weeks of age. The house temperature was kept at about 34ºC during the first 3 days, 32ºC during next 4 days and thereafter, gradually decreased by 2-3ºC weekly down to 22-24ºC. Mash feed form and water were available ad libitum throughout the experimental period.
