Abstract
Introduction: Trauma is one of the leading causes of death worldwide and can be characterized as a global epidemic. Chest trauma considered as the most important injury in poly-trauma patients. The aim of work: The purpose of the study is to determine whether using routine TCT as a part of non-selective CT in the diagnosis process in patients with blunt chest trauma was superior to selective CT in Mansoura University Emergency Hospital. Research Plan: The study was done over 100 patients with blunt chest injury. Clinical examination then chest X-ray then CT chest. Results: In the studied patients, Routine CT chest was able to determine chest injuries better than the selective method and changed management in a large section of patients. Conclusion: The study had proved that the use of routine CT chest is better in diagnosis than the selective method.
