Abstract Chronic kidney disease is a very real and growing problem. The total number of treated patients has markedly increased during the last 30 years. CKD is defined as abnormalities of kidney structure or function (defined by markers of kidney injury or decreased glomerular filtration rate (GFR) present for 3months. Anemia commonly occurs in people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) either with permanent or partial loss of kidney function. Anemia might begin to develop in the early stages of CKD, when someone has 20 to 50 percent of normal kidney function. Anemia tends to worsen as CKD progresses. The study was done on 400 patients with ESRD on regular hemodialysis in more than one center for HD in Al-Gharbia governorate. |
