Abstract
The results of the current study emphasize that urinary retention is very uncommon post-operatively in cesarean when intrathecal morphine 0.15 mg was used and the need for routine postoperative urinary catheterization is not needed. We also conclude that Intravenous 3 mg of nalbuphine when used postoperatively in patients who underwent caesarian section utilizing intrathecal morphine; it increased patient satisfaction with no added risk.
More studies are needed to evaluate if higher doses of nalbuphine would decrease intrathecal morphine induced vomiting or itching.
