Abstract Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)is a progressive condition characterized by airflow limitation associated with high morbidity and mortality. Cumulative evidence link the inflammatory reactions involved in the pathogenesis of COPD and microbial elements. Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)is a kind of chronic infectious pathogen which can cause chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, gastric cancer and other diseases including idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, acute coronary syndrome, insulin resistance and respiratory conditions including COPD. However, the relation between H. pylori infection and COPD is controversial. The aim of the study The present study aimed to assess the value of implementing H. pylori eradication regimen on disease severity and pulmonary functions in a group of COPD patients diagnosed with H. pylori infection. |
