Abstract

Two series of perovskite Pb1-x NixTiO3, x = (0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5) has been prepared using a conventional ceramic method and co-precipitation method. The structural and phase composition of samples were investigated by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and infrared spectroscopy (IR) at room temperature. The particle size has been determined for samples by using Scherrer’s equation and TEM. DC resistivity, dielectric constant (ε), dielectric loss (tan(δ)) , ferroelectric hysteresis loop, thermoelectric power, charge carriers concentration and charge carrier mobility , piezoelectric coefficient d33 and the elasticity modulus (Y) were studied for samples.Different physical properties of the composite were determined using XRD Pattern which confirmed the perovskite tetragonal structure PbTiO3. The tetragonality c/a decreased for ceramic samples and co-precipitation samples by increasing Ni content. The studies of IR spectroscopy confirm the formation of a perovskite tetragonal structure. The SEM micrograph of the samples from ceramic method consists of particles with grain size ranged from 3 to 0.74 μm and for co-precipitation samples from 167 to 66 nm .The TEM micrograph show small crystallite size of about 14 to 3 nm for the co-precipitation sample and 48 to 26 nm for the ceramic samples.
