Abstract

This investigation was carried out at Sakha Agricultural Research Station, Agricultural Research Centre (ARC), Egypt, during the three growing seasons 2013, 2014and 2015.
Six soybean[Glycine max .L. Merrill] genotypes different in their tolerance drought {D.R101 (P1), H129 (P2), H132 (P3), H2L20 (P4), Giza 111 (P5) and Crawford (P6)
A diallel crosses excluding reciprocals was carried out among the six genotypes under insect free cage during 2013 season.
In 2013 season, the parents and their F1 hybrid seeds were sown in a randomized complete block design with three replications under insect free cage. Re-hybridization was made in order to obtain F1 hybrid seeds, and the F1 plants were self-pollinated to obtain the F2 seeds.
A diallel crosses excluding reciprocals was carried out among the six genotypes under insect free cage during 2013 season.
from the obtained results , it could be concluded that :
1 -The parent Dr101 exhibited better performance under stress condition, it had the highest values for root length ,volume and thickness and so, it used in breeding for drought tolerance
2 – The best general combiner for earliness ( lowest values of flowering and maturity dates )was the parent Crawford
