Abstract In the present study, we study the relationship between serum TSH concentration and development and progression of differentiated thyroid carcinoma and this relationship is discussed. All patients were subjected to; thorough history taking, clinical examination to assess the thyroid gland and number of enlarged cervical lymph nodes and to which group they belong, Ultrasonographic examination, chest X ray, indirect laryngoscope to detect mobility of bilateral vocal cords, serum TSH concentration, T3&T4 concentrations, pathology of fine needle aspiration cytology(FNAC) and the postoperative histopathology of excised specimen.All patients were presented either by enlarged thyroid gland orcervical masses(enlarged cervical lymph nodes).There are 41(82%)Patients presented by enlargement thyroidgl and and 9(18%)patients presented by cervical lymph nodes enlargement.Pathological result detects 47 patients had papillary thyroid carcinoma and 3 patients had follicular thyroid carcinoma. |
