Abstract

This research was conducted on fifty adult male albino rats. After one week of acclimatization, animals were all located into 2 main groups (25 rats for each).
a) The first experiment (Prophylactic effect):
25 rats in this group divided into 5 equal groups.
group (1): ( Control ) did not receive any drugs.
group (2): (Piroxicam) did not receive any drugs.
group (3):(Rantidine) received rantidine orally at a dose of 27 mg/kg B.wt (one dose).
group (4): (P.P) received pomegranate peel methanolic extract orally at a dose of 100 mg/kg. B.wt. (one dose).
group (5): (P.D) received Phoenix dactylifera methanolic extract orally at a dose of 1000 mg/kg. B.wt. (one dose).
After 1 hr. all groups except control group received piroxicam orally at dose of 30 mg/kg. B.wt. (one dose).
