Abstract

The present work has assigned to study the corrosion behavior of Stainless Steel 430 in 2 M hydrochloric acid solution and the inhibiting effect of some plants extracts. The obtained results showed that the inhibition efficiency of these plants extracts increased by increasing their concentration, so that the adsorption of these compounds is physical and the adsorption of the plants extracts on Stainless Steel 430 surface in 2 M hydrochloric acid follows Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Potentiodynamic polarization technique has used as a second method to study the inhibiting effect of the used extracts. from these result it’s found that these extracts act as mixed type inhibitors. Also, impedance spectroscopy measurements and electrochemical frequency modulation measurements were used. Some thermodynamic parameters have computed and discussed. Also, electrochemical frequency modulation measurements have measured. The obtained results of all methods are in good agreement.
