Abstract

Annually, Egypt produces a large quantity of agricultural residues estimated at 43.64 million tons in 2010 opposite 61.43 million tons in 2017. Dakahlia governorate is one of the largest governorates for production agricultural residues. It produces a quantity of residues of 470 thousand tons in 2010 compared with 1.34 million tons in 2017 (Ministry of Local Development - Information and Decision Center 2010-2017). On the other side, the amount of smallholding of farm areas less than 5 feddan in Dakahlia governorate represents about 74.46%. They produce about 25.5% of the total residues. It means that the one feddan produce about 2.52 ton residues per year.
Therefore, the trend was conformed to design a small compost device to produce compost. On other side, helping the smallholding farmers to convert the agricultural residues in less time than that in Windrow system. Compost is usually made using plant residues mixed with some animal residues in a homogeneous mix that ensures certain percentages of mineral and organic materials, which usually reach maturity in the traditional system within 2-3 months. Clean agriculture), the need to reduce the production time of compost, which led to the need for alternatives to traditional production and include these alternatives: 1 - The use of catalysts such as: stimulating bacteria, some mineral fertilizers,
2 - The use of air conditioning means such as pushing the air in the presence of water, 3-The use of devices to accelerate the process by best mixing row material. At using the above recommendation, you should take into consideration that the lack of excessive energy consumption and try to reach the optimal combination of the production speed while maintaining the quality of the product. So they attempt was done to investigate spherical device that design, constructed and formed to produce compost in quick time.
