Abstract The present study was designed to study the effect of protein level on growth performance and feed utilization of mono and mixed sex of Nile tilapia fry. A protein level was incorporated into Threediets contained 35, 40 and 45% crude protein. The experiment lasted for 56 days. The best final weight gain, specific growth rate, protein efficiency ratio and survival rate of fish were significantly (p<0.05) highest for group of fish fed and feed utilization (FCR, FE and PER) on group of monosex fry fed on diet containing 45%. The lowest final weight gain, specific growth rate, protein efficiency ratio and survival rate of fish were significantly (p<0.05) lowest group of fry fed and feed utilization (FCR, FE and PER) on group of mixedsex fry fed on diet containing 35%.In conclusion this study indicate that 45% crude protein was the best for mono and mixed sex of Nile tilapia fry in terms of growth performance, feed utilization and economic analysis. |
