The aim of this research is to analysis the scene and inscriptions of chapel of King Seti I in the temple at Abydos and how to deification Seti I in his chapel through the scenes that were presented in the chapel. The research aims to study the similarity and difference between the chapel of Seti I and the other chapels.
The results of this were first the inscription proved that the god of chapels are not the major gods the temple, as an evidence the attached title of them and consider Abydos a major holy station that have to be visited
2- Describing the king Seti in the six chapel imitating the priest’s rule in doing the daily service for gods and personify Hur on earth or parallel for him, as evidence was found in the pattern of the chapel of Osir and describe Hur the protector with his true form in the chapel of Seti hugging him with his wings during his sitting on the throne, while he epithet the king in the chapel of Hur as the beloved Hur, the avenger for his father.
3-The chapel of Seti l is characterized by its description for two rules of the king:
As a living king, he controlled Egypt and had the symbols of power and authority to claim him a divinity nature and special abilities.
As a dead king personified in Osir form god of dead, imitating one of his features ”Onen- Never” in addition to having the signs of divinity related to gods like Alka, Nekhekh and Ankh.
4-The description of gods differs in the six chapel in ascending the throne above the sign of Maat while Seti I was portrayed on his throne trampling the nine bows.
5-Each chapel is characterized in being a symbol for an independent temple because the temple is a personification of god, god of the temple and the temple (the chapel of Seti l) is a symbolization for the protect barricade for Egypt against the enemies as evidence his description trampling above symbol of the nine bows.
6-The chapel of Seti I is characterized with the view of the holy boat describing the king with his father and his royal wife maybe in this an inversion for the holy triad. It was also obvious in the comp of Amun Ra’ that describe the boats of Mut and Khonsu who ended the triad.
7-In the chapel of Seti l portrayed the king taking the fumigation from the priest Ion Mut Ef before entering the chapel which is one of the daily rituals that the king was doing it in the other six chapel and considers himself as a giver of these to god of each chapel .
8-The scene of Birth and the Rejuvenation of the king in front of the spirits of the ancestors (Bh and Nhn). Then, there is a view for Unification of Egypt in front of the kings of the holy Heliopolis that support him with all the life elements, the power, the authority and The health while he was portrayed in the other six chapel standing and opening the door of the chapel for each god followed by the daily Purifying ritual which is pouring water, burning incense and views of gods devotion.
9-The scenes of the chapel is match the other that were portrayed in a chamber of the temple’s Columns, and prove that this chapel was made to accomplish the different rituals for the dead king as to confirm his movement to the other world as a king for dead and a personification for Osir.
10-The scenes of the rituals of the coronation are in:
-The caravan of the king carried by the spirits of Nkhin and Bh.
-The rulings Heliopolis.
-The actually coronation of the king not only the rites of the coronation but also proved the rule of Sity as a king on earth and the other world.
-The connection of these rites that assume the legitimacy of the king in the other world with ancestor’s devotion.
-The Establishment of the kingdom of Seti I after his death so he can receive the daily scarifies that given to the dead king in his funeral temple.
