Our results showed that: There were non-significant differences between patients and control groups regarding age, residence and family history of DM There were non-significant differences between patients and control groups regarding weight, height, body mass index and ultrasound liver size. There were statistically significant differences between patients and control groups regarding blood sugar and HbA1c and non significant differences between patients and control groups regarding other biochemical profile parameters. There were - non significant difference between sex and both type of diet in patients group and type of liver changes (hepatomegaly, hyperechogenic or normal liver). There were ststistically significant differences between HbA1c and insulin dose and hyperechogenic liver in type 1 diabetes and non significant differences regarding age, weight, height, body mass index and blood sugar. There were statistically significant differences between low density lipoprotein, triglycerides, cholesterol, U/S liver size and hyperechogenic liver in type 1diabetes, and non significant differences regarding high density lipoprotein, alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase. There was statistically significant difference between ultrasound findings of the liver and type of diet in patients group. There was statistically a significant difference between hyperechogenic liver and type of diet in patients group. There was statistically a significant difference between before and after 3 months follow up regarding glycated hemoglobin and U/S liver size at onset of study and after 3 months follow up. |
