Abstract
The current study in vestigation has been conducted to the effect of chia
seeds ( chia powder, chia jam, and chia extract ). on diabetic rats .
Aim of study:
The aim of study this work was to study the effect of chia seeds on diabetes
rats.
Materials & methods :
Treatments :
This study used chia seeds to treat diabetes rats as following :
group 1 (-ve ): fed on basal diet only. „as negative control.
group 2 (+ve):fed on basal diet after treatment with alloxan , as positive.
Control(diabelic group)
group (3): 5 diabetic rats; treated with chia powder 5% .
group (4) diabetic rats; treated with chia powder 10% .
Group(5) diabetic rats ,treated with chia jam5% .
Group(6) diabetic rats: treated with chia jam 10% .
group (7) diabetic rats; treated with chia extract 5% .
group (8) diabetic rats; treated with chia extract 10% .
Experiment animals (rats):
forty white male albino rats weighting between 150-160g , were used in
this study . diabetes was induced in normal healthy albino rats by intraperitoneal
of alloxan 150mg/ kg body weight.
