Abstract This study has shown the novel PUF-Chitosan and modified shrimp shells. Contact time, pH, preconcentration, sorption capacity and other sorption behaviors of Fe(III), Mn(II), and Cd(II) onto the novel sorbents were carried out and give result indicates the sensitivity of these extractors towards these ions. The novel modified shrimp shells and the novel foam can be good alternative for the extraction of Cd (II), Mn (II) and Fe (III) from real water due to both excellent and attractive properties such as high capacity, good reusability and high preconcentration factor. The extraction capacities of the novel sorbents are superior. The novel sorbents can be good alternative for the extraction of the toxic ions due to their excellent and attractive features such as Low cost, high extraction capacity and good chemical reusability. The two sorbents are very ecofriendly. The synthesized foam and modified shrimp shells column were recycled several times without significantly affecting their uptake capacities. The new developed extractors were successfully employed for the determination of the studied analyte in real samples. The results obtained from the analysis of Qaroun Lake water and baher Youssef and they have confirmed the reliability of the proposed method and its application to various samples. |
