Abstract
In conclusion, this study has investigated NCAT followed by CRT in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. Its results demonstrate a good response to dose dense paclitaxel/ carboplatin as a neoadjuvant protocol. Dose dense weekly NACT with paclitaxel and carboplatin followed by CCRT achieved a good response rate. It is feasible with acceptable toxicity of NACT and high compliance to radiotherapy. Further studies are needed to determine whether such strategy of treatment compared to standard CRT will lead to a significant improvement in survival or not. Further studies also are needed to concentrate on how best to select patients who may take the greatest benefit from this protocol without impairment of their quality of life.
