المستخلص Summary Introduction: Water resources are at the forefront of the world’s concerns. The developed countries have paid great attention to these resources to develop and maintain them from wastefulness, increase efficiency and maximize returns. The importance of water resources increases as they become rare and needed, Egypt as a state of the estuary of the Nile River and with the scarcity of rains to take the initiative to draw up plans and policies for the development of water resources to meet the needs and requirements of the sectors used for water, especially in the field of agriculture to achieve economic progress desired. Research problem: The problem of research in water scarcity in North Sinai Governorate is summarized. However, there is a large loss of irrigation water and a lack of rationalization of water use in agriculture, which impedes the agricultural development process and reduces the agricultural area and development opportunities and investment in the governorate. Research hypotheses: The main hypothesis: There is a significant effect to apply the method of reducing losses on increasing productivity. The main hypothesis is divided into two propositions: - The first hypothesis: There is a significant effect to apply the method of reducing waste to increase the area cultivated. Summary 2 - The second hypothesis: There is a significant effect of the method of reducing waste on increasing the productivity of the water unit. Research objectives: - Identify the impact of applying waste reduction methodology on productivity improvement. - Identify available resources in North Sinai Governorate. - Rationalize the use of irrigation water in agriculture in the desert areas to increase the area Cultivated by reducing the loss of irrigation water. - Identify modern methods of irrigation and choose the appropriate method to reduce losses of water. - Identify the most efficient crops for water. - Prepare a proposal to solve the problem of water scarcity and reduce waste to increase productivity. Search limits: 1- Spatial boundaries: North Sinai Governorate. The village of Rummaneh 2- Time Limits: The research papers were completed from 15/6/2013: / / 2017 and the field study was 1/1/2016: 31/12/2016. Search Plan: The study included four chapters. The first chapter included two sections: the general framework of the study and the second topic, which includes the previous studies. The second chapter also included three topics: the first topic: terrestrial resources, the second topic: water resources, the third topic: human resources. Summary 3 The third chapter ensures the application of the method of reducing waste and its impact on productivity improvement. The fourth chapter includes the field study, findings and recommendations. Research results: The study reached several results including: 1- There is a fundamental relationship between the application of the method of reducing waste and improving productivity in all study sample crops (tomatoes, olives, cantaloupe and pomegranate). 2- There is a fundamental relationship between the application of the method of reducing the loss and increasing the cultivated area, while the validity of the hypothesis of the study sample crops (tomatoes, olives, cantaloupe and pomegranate) has been proven. 3- There is a fundamental relationship between the application of the method of reducing the losses and increasing the productivity of the water unit in the study sample crops (tomatoes, olives, cantaloupe and pomegranate). 4- The study showed that the loss of irrigation water was reduced through the method of drip irrigation, which in turn led to improved productivity. 5- A proposed framework has been worked out to solve the problem of water scarcity and reduce irrigation water losses to improve productivity. 6- The study contributed to clarifying the reasons that may lead to increase the loss of irrigation water and how to avoid it. Summary 4 Search recommendations: - The study recommends expanding the use of modern methods of irrigation, especially the method of drip irrigation, which reduced the losses of irrigation water and improved productivity in the study sample crops (tomatoes, olives, cantaloupe, pomegranate). - The study recommends increasing the effectiveness of water resources to increase the knowledge and culture of water to farmers and to introduce them to the importance of water resources and its scarcity by holding seminars and conferences to increase awareness of farmers. - The study recommends the necessity of periodic maintenance of modern irrigation machines, pipes and points in the case of drip irrigation, sprinklers and pipes. - It is necessary to choose the appropriate time for irrigation to avoid water evaporation. - The study recommends the application of the method of reducing the losses, where it was reduced losses of irrigation water, which improved productivity by increasing the area cultivated and increase the productivity of the water unit. - Irrigation in accordance with the water parameters of agricultural crops, as well as selecting the crops that are most efficient in their water needs. |
