Abstract The design of an optical trap for storing femtosecond laser pulses is presented in this thesis. With the help of these devices, the repetition rate of the used laser system can reach the order of 250 MHz. The average power in an experimental section inside the optical trap increased by a factor of 5, by inserting an amplifying medium in the optical trap the average power increased by a factor of about 805 compared to single passage configuration. Due to the extreme sensitivity of the femtosecond laser pulses, optical trap components introduce large dispersion in time. To compensate this dispersion four chirped mirrors have been introduced. In the optical trap, besides the improvements of the repetition rate, average power and overcome the time dispersion, the laser pulse could be stored in the optical trap for 4 μs with constant power. |
