Abstract Cicatricial entropion is secondary to scarring of the posterior lamella. It is the most common reason for upper lid entropion. In the presence of lid laxity and dermatochalsis, even a small amount of conjunctival scarring can cause entropion. The aim of this work is to compare the surgical outcome and the aesthetic appearance between anterior lamellar reposition (ALR) and ALR with blepharoplasty in management of mild to moderate upper eyelid cicatricial entropion. Twenty lids of mild to moderate cicatricial upper eyelid entropion were involved in this study, cases were divided in to 2 groups, success rate of first group (ALR) was 70 %, patient satisfaction was 60% and final aesthetic outcome was 30% excellent, 30% fair and 40% poor results. The second group (ALR with blepharoplasty) success rate was100 %, patient satisfaction was 100% and final aesthetic outcome was 80% excellent results. |
