Abstract SUMMARY Seventy five adult patients ASA I & II scheduled for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery under general anesthesia were included in this study. Patients were randomly classified into three equal groups according to the drug used for post-operative analgesia and a control group. group DEX (n = 25): received Dexmedetomidine as post-operative analgesia. group BUP (n = 25): received Bupivacaine as post-operative analgesia. group C (control) (n = 25): receive normal saline 0.9%. The aim of our study was to compare between the efficacy of intraperitoneal instillation of Bupivavcine versus Dexmedetomedine for pain relief postoperatively after Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy. Exclusion criteria Patient refusal, Patient who were allergic to the study drugs, Patients with severe cardiac, pulmonary and neurological diseases. Those in whom procedure had to be converted to open cholecystectomy and in whom abdominal drain was put (leaving intra-abdominal drain at the end of the surgery) Postoperatively in all groups the following were measured: 1.
