Introduction:
Early childhood is the optimal time for growth and rapid learning for children. During these years, children acquire the reading that prepares them for school life. The first years of the child’s life are of great importance in the life of the whole person as a period of formation and establishment. Reading is one of the most important skills that a child can possess because it is a means of understanding and communicating with others. The most important way is to expand his mental horizons and increase his human experience. It is also a means of taste and enjoyment. It is also a factor of mental and emotional development of the child and has a social value. from generation to generation and from individual to individual by means of what is written, written and printed from books accessible to everyone at any time.
Reading helps solve the problems we face daily. Some believe that it is easy to teach the child to solve the problems of his day, especially the social problems, but it is not the ability of the child to learn the skill of solving social problems can only come about by providing an appropriate environment that encourages children To solve their own problems with the help of a teacher, parents or child-rearing children by developing their self-esteem and a sense of self-confidence. In general, children in early childhood need early care and care, especially the mentally challenged children, and their caregivers must understand their needs and solve their problems so that they do not stand in the way of their superiority. Most of the problems facing the mentally challenged are social problems such as isolation, Social problems, social problems, social problems, social problems, social problems and social problems. To teach them as well as provide the potential to continue to motivate creativity and excellence.
Study Problem:
Despite the efforts exerted by the State to care for mentally gifted children, they still need more care and attention. Since reading has become an important requirement at present, scientists have considered reading ability to be one of the most important skills a person must have in his life. Nowadays, although it is important to teach the children of this stage to the principles of reading well, this aspect is almost negligible in the system of education in kindergarten, so the researcher developed a reading program to develop the skills of solving the social problems of kindergarten children super-mental. Through all of the above can crystallize the problem of the study in the absence of care in the care of mentally supernatural children of kindergarten children.
Hence, the study seeks to answer the following question:
What is the effectiveness of a program based on reading in developing the ability to social problem solving skills among high mental children? And which fork to the following questions
1-Are there significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in the post test of social problem solving skills?
2-Are there significant differences between the pre and post test of the experimental group in social problem solving skills?
3-Are there significant differences between the post test and follow up test of experimental group in social problem solving skills?
Objectives of the study:
1 - Developing a measure of skills to solve the social problems of the kindergarten child.
2 - Design a reading - based program to develop the skills of solving the social problems of the kindergarten child.
3- Determining the effectiveness of the proposed program in developing the skills of solving the social problems of kindergarten child.
4 – Identifying the impact of the proposed program in the development of skills to solve the social problems of kindergarten children.
Study significance:
The significance can be determined in the following points:
1 - Being an important way to teach kindergarten children the principles of reading.
2 - Identify a way to solve the social problems of the child kindergarten through reading.
3 - Introducing a new strategy for kindergarten teachers to teach children the principles of correct reading.
4 - Identify the effectiveness of the use of reading as a means to develop the solution of social problems of the child kindergarten.
5 - Identify the skills of solving social problems in kindergarten children.
Terminology of study
Kindergarten Children
Are children who have reached the age of four and have not yet reached the age of six and have attended kindergarten.
High Mental children
Are those children whose IQs are more than 120 degrees on one of the known IQs, and they are only six years old.
reading
Is a complex mental process that includes the interpretation of written symbols (words and structures) and linking them to the meanings and interpretation of those meanings according to the reader’s personal experience through the reader’s visual device.
Reading program
It is a set of experiences, skills and attitudes that are provided to the kindergarten child in which the child uses reading to develop his or her social problem solving skills.
Problem Solving Skills
Is a set of skills issued by the teacher for children in the form of behavioral performance helps the child to solve some of the problems that occur to him through his consciousness and thinking in solving.
Social problem solving skills
Is a cognitive behavioral process in which effective and adaptive solutions are discovered to address these problems that may impede their communication with or around their social peers.
Methodology:
The quasi experimental method has been used because of its suit to study aims and nature. It has been depended on two groups design; experimental group and control one, and pre, post and follow up tests of study variables.
Sampling:
The study sample included (20) children in the second level (5-6 years) in Gamal Abdel Nasser primary school in Beni-Suef governorate; 10 children represented the experimental group and (10) children represented the control group, whose IQ exceeds 120 degrees.
Instruments:
It has been used the following tools:
1. Otis-Lennon General Mental Abilities Test by Mustafa Mohammed Kamel (The fifth edition).
2. Reading Skills Form by the researcher.
3. Social Problem Solving Skills Scale by the researcher.
4. The program based on reading by the researcher.
Statistical treatment:
It has been used non-parametric statistical styles suitable for testing study assumptions which include Mann-Whitney Test and Wilcoxon Test. SPSS (v.12) used in statistical treatments.
Results:
Study results reveal the effectiveness of the program in developing social problems solving skills of preschool children.The current study results were discussed and interpreted in terms of review of literature and studies relevant to the study topic. Also, some recommendations and suggested researches were presented as current study results showed the need for them.
