Abstract

In the present study, we used clinical, biochemical and radiological tests for the assessment of ovarian reserve and thereby prediction of successful outcome of ovulation induction amongst our registered patients.
On the 2nd day of menstrual cycle, serum FSH and serum AMH levels were estimated and baseline ultrasonography was done at which the antral follicle count and ovarian volume were measured.
clomiphene citrate 100 mg orally once a day for five days will be prescribed for all women starting from the 2nd day of the menstrual cycle.
day 7 and day 11, ultrasonography was done for size and number of follicles.
All cases were subjected to the following:
Detailed history taking including Name, age, sex, family history of infertility, weight, body mass index, parity, age at menarche, length of menstrual cycle .
Detailed clinical examination including General examination,Systematic examination and Transvaginal ultrasonography for follow up of antral follicle count and size.
- Investigation which including Serum FSH and Serum AMH.
The current study shows the following results :
A statistically significance difference between group A poor reserve and group B good reserve as regard AFC, FSH, AMH.
A statistically significance difference between group A poor reserve and group B good reserve as regard Weight.
Strong positive correlation between number of follicles at the 7th & 11th days and ovarian reserve.
In poor reserve group there was a statistically significance difference between poor and good respoders as regard weight and BMI; while in good reserve group there was a statistically significance difference between poor and good respoders as regard age of menarche and type of infertility.
In poor reserve group there was a statistically significance difference between poor and good respoders as regard AFC .
A significant inverse correlation between AMH and FSH levels on day 2 of menstruation according to results from our study on 70 infertile women.
