Abstract Everywhere in the world technology represents very important part of our public and private life. Thanks to quick advanced technical progress has sci-fi literature become more popular. This work should first define the concepts of fantasy, sci-fi, utopia and antiutopia in terms of literary genre. This thesis mainly deals with Czech and Egyptian sci-fi drama in the first half of the 20th century, Čapek and al-Ḥakīm sci-fi drama by analysing their plays R. U. R. and Journey to tomorrow. Based on this the study illustrates authors artistic method in reference to their phantasies of humankind future after the technological revolution. |
