Abstract

Aim of the study: This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of platelet rich fibrin exudate on proliferation of BMSCs at different periods. Methods: Platelet rich fibrin exudate was prepared from blood samples obtained from rats preparation of 5%, 10%, 20% concentrations of PRF was adjusted together with 10% FBS and serum free media. Bone marrow was obtained from animals by dissecting the femur and tibias. Isolation and out growth expansion of the cells were achieved. At passage3, characterization of the cells occurred using different CDs using flowcytometry. The cells proliferation was assessed establishing proliferation design. The proliferation and viability of the cells were assessed using MTS viability test and trypan blue staining at 3 and 6 days period. Results: there is no significant difference between the different culture medias in relation to proliferation test but there is significant difference in the viablity test between all groups. Conclusions: Different concentrations of PRF have an insignificant effect when used as an alternative media to 10% FBS.
