Abstract The current study was delineated to evaluate the possible growth promoting effect and immunostimulant effect of ginger powder or β-glucans on the response to A. hydrophila vaccine in Nile tilapia (O. niloticus). In each experiment, 120 apparently healthy alive O. niloticus was allocated into 2 equal groups in 2 cement pond; each group has three replicates (20 fish replicate-1). The diet was given four times daily. The food was given by hand in corresponding aquaria. The feeding period was lasted for 60 days after that were allocated each group into 2 equal groups so become four groups each group contain 30 fish and transfer them to glass aquaria. Experimental design in both experiments as follows:- group 1 fed on basal diet. group 2 fed on basal diet then vaccinated with A. hydrophila. group 3 fed on ginger or β-glucan supplemented diet. group 4 fed on ginger or β-glucan supplemented diet then vaccinated with A. hydrophila. |
