Abstract

The present study was conducted in a sandy clay loam soil of Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Al-Azhar University, Assiut branch, Assiut, Egypt, during fall seasons of 2015\2016 and 2016\217 to study the performance of some hybrid lines of pea (Pisum sativum L.) under different sowing date stress. Four genotypes of Pea named ”Jaguar x Yemen (land races)”, ”Palmolar x Yemen (land races)” and ”master B x Yemen (land races)” and master B cv. was presented at three planting dates (first of October, November and December). The results showed highly significant differences among pea genotypes in each planting date for growth, yield and yield components. The first of November planting date gave significantly higher yield and yield components than the early and late planting date in both experimental years. Hybrid line ”master B x Yemen (land races)” was better than the other hybrids and the check cultivar (master B) in yield and yield component at different sowing date.
Conclusion
It may be concluded on the basis of present investigation that sowing of pea on 1st November recorded significantly higher growth, yield attributes and yield. Among genotypes, master B x Yemen hybrid found superior over rest of the genotypes. Combined effect of genotypes and sowing dates had shown remarkable influence on the characters under study.
