Abstract Employee participation in decision- making now considered a key element in the successful implementation of new management strategies and plays an important role in determining the degree of empowerment and job commitment. Aim: the Study aimed at identifying the effect of Developing Guidelines of staff nurses participation in decision-making and empowerment on their organizational Commitment. Results: There was a statically significant differences between empowerment and organizational commitment among staff nurses before and after supplementary them with guidelines, while there was no statically significant differences between involvement in decision –making and organizational commitment. Conclusion: Using guidelines has a negative effect on organizational commitment among staff nurses. Recommendation: Create a unit level committee as a strategy for promoting decisional involvement and structural empowerment; create a motivating work environment, keeping open lines of communication. |
