The study conducted by the researcher under the title of Digital reference service Librarians at university libraries in Egypt: A field studyTo know the personal characteristics to be available in the digital reference service librarians, monitor the tasks, duties and shed light on the skills and development of the basic elements of the courses qualified for the digital reference service librarians in library sections, monitor the training needs required to re-qualification and identify the obstacles facing The problem of the study in the emergence and spread the use of digital reference sources to the existence of new environment of work must be coexisted and prepared by the digital reference service librarians and this was not matched by a change in the way of preparation and training, which reflects on the tasks and duties performed by the technological skills that must have to do the new tasks. The importance of the study comes from the change of the work environment of the reference librarians from the traditional form to the digital form. This change requires re-qualification the rehabilitation and training of the librarians. It also requires a change in the reference courses in the library departments. The study also focuses on the skills required to be available in the digital reference service librarians. The first study dealing with the Digital reference service Librarians also provides a study model proposed specifications required by the Digital reference service Librarians. The study depended on the field survey method in order to know personal skills and qualities, knowledge of the tasks and duties assigned to the Digital reference service Librarians and knowledge of technological skills and how to re-qualification and training to carry out its tasks were used tools of the questionnaire and a direct observation of Librarians during the service to measure the availability attributes and skills and knowledge of their views in how to develop the basic elements of courses qualified for the digital reference service librarians, And to know their training needs and obstacles encountered during work. The study also included the introduction of methodology and four chapters and then the results and recommendations and a proposed model for the specifications of the Digital reference service Librarians and the list of sources and finally annexes. The methodological approach includes the study problem, its importance, objectives, questions, boundaries, the most important terms of study, methods, tools, methods of data collection, methods of data analysis, study society, study sample, previous studies, Arabic and foreign.
