Abstract The objective of the present study was to investigating whether eNOS gene polymorphisms are associated with susceptibility for obesity in Egyptian population. We studied three functional eNOS polymorphisms that are known to affect nitric oxide formation: a promoter region (T786C), (G894T), and (27bp). In this study it was observed cases showed a significantly higher frequencies of G894T and T786C genotype than control, increased levels of significant of genotypes G894T and T786C have been suggested to be risk factor for incidence of obesity. But we can’t be sure that 27bp repeat consider risk factor as there was no significant difference between cases and control. |
