The majority of the world’s population lives in urban urban Communities, where most of the major economic, social and environmental processes that affect societies as a whole take place, And as a result of the rapid urbanization processes that dominated the construction of urban settlements during the second half of the 20th century and the resulting problems, including economic, social and environmental affected the quality of the urban environment, And as a result of increasing interest by planners and designers on how to form urban communities and the possibility of addressing and avoid the existence of these problems and try to meet the needs of humanity, So a set of different principles emerged through contemporary urban design theories, which call for different ideas of the current urban expansion.
Therefore, many studies have emerged that focus on how to form the urban communities and the best urban forms that meet the human needs and achieve the quality standards of urban design, taking into account the local conditions of each region, But the problem is each theory focuses on some aspects of the quality of urban design with the omission of other aspects or not to give it the same importance, In other words, most theories of urban design are partial theories that do not cover all aspects and dimensions of the quality of urban design, Thus they cann’t stand alone as the rules of urban design in practice, in addition to a difference between the theoretical aspects and the applied aspects of these theories.
