Abstract The current study aimed at determining the effect of adopting mind-mapping strategy on vocabulary and grammar learning of EFL preparatory schoolers. The research design is the qusai experimental pre- post test. Two classes from El Nasr Preparatory School for Girls in Ismailia were chosen purposefully. Each group consisted of thirty female students. The experimental group was taught adopting some types of mind mapping strategy in learning vocabulary and grammar, whereas the control group was taught using the traditional method. An achievement test of vocabulary and grammar was administrated to both groups before and after the treatment. The obtained data was analysed statistically through the use of Cronbach,s Alpha, t- test and effect size. The results of the study revealed that the students taught by mind mapping had better score in the vocabulary and grammar test than those taught by the traditional method. It can be concluded that mind mapping had a significantly positive effect on vocabulary and grammar learning of the preparatory school pupils. |
