Abstract

Summary and conclusion
UCF is the most common complication after hypospadias repair. Several techniques have been described for fistula repair after hypospadias surgery, skin flaps are used for repairing the fistula provided that that local skin is viable and adequate.
Our study included 20 patients admitted and treated at the pediatric surgery unit, Tanta University Hospital in the period between October 2017 to March 2019. The age of our patients ranged between 1.5 years to 14 years.
Coronal and subcoronal fistulae were common in our patients (50%). Three of our patients had associated meatal stenosis with UCF that were managed with fistula closure. Surgical repair of the fistulae was done by rotational skin flap with 6-0 Vicryl sutures after at least 6 months from the urethroplasty with no urinary diversion.
All of the patients were discharged after 24 hours and followed up for at least 3 months with accepted complications including; infection and hematoma in four patients (20%) as early complications and fistula recurrence in two cases (10%).
