Abstract
Liver cirrhosis and liver cell failure are major health problems worldwide with variable causes including viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, genetic disorders and other causes. Many patient are asymptomatic discovered accidentally during examination ,others presented with complications as ascites ,spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, hepatic encephalopathy ,variceal bleeding and hepatorenal syndrome which all treated with conservative treatment. Aim of the work To highlight the recent in management of end stage liver disease. Chapters of the essay Liver transplantation still the definitive treatment of patients with cirrhosis and liver failure with higher successful rate .liver transplantation is hindered by lack of donors complications for donor and recipient, surgical and medical complications as rejection. Artifical liver support devices provide a bridge to liver transplantation for cases of acute liver failure and acute on top of chronic liver failure. Stem cell therapy for chronic liver disease is still in trials with variable degrees of success.it also present a bridge for improvement of patient condition till liver transplantation done.
