Abstract Thisstudywasplannedtoestimatethespecificmolecularvariantsbetween five rabbitsbreeds in Egypt (New ZelandWhite (NZW), California, Chinchilla,Flander andBabion)within the genomecausingthisgenetic variationbyusinggenetic markers(PCR-RFLP,Microsatellites,Sequence reads,Single nucleotidepolymorphism,andmacromoleculeanalysis).A total of 128animals have been used witharangefrom 19to 35rabbits perbreed. TheresultsofthisstudyrevealedthatstrongsimilaritiesbetweenFlanderand BabionaswellasbetweenNZWandCalifornia wereexisted. Thesimilarity matrixshowedthatNZWandChinchilla andFlandermore distinctfromeach othermaybeduetothesporadicoftheFlanderbreedersinEgypt,thereforethe numberofpopulationscametobedecreased.Also,DNAsequencingandSNPs techniquesaremore accuratethanothersunderthisstudy.Inaddition,the rabbit’sbreedsare goodreservoir ofallelic diversitythatisthe major basisfor genetic improvement. Therefore, thebreedersareinneedtoformal conservationplanexistsinEgypt forsuchstrains(Manyhavebeenlostornow face extinction). |
