Abstract

The Present study was conducted to investigate the effect of using digital storytelling program on developing 3rd year English majors’ oral skills and level of satisfaction. Sixty students were involved in this study. They were randomly assigned to two groups: an experimental group and a control one (30 students each). The experimental group students were taught using the digital storytelling program, while the control group used the regular method of teaching stories, a pretest and a post-test were administrated for the purpose of the study. The program was conducted during the first semester of the academic year 2017/2018, for nine weeks, two sessions a week, two hours each, for a total of 36 hours, including testing time. Results suggested that digital storytelling strategy helped to enhance students’ oral skills and level of language satisfaction as the experimental group outperformed the control group significantly in the measurement of the listening test and the speaking test, and the language satisfaction scale. Furthermore, the results revealed that the Digital storytelling strategy was found to be more effective than the regular method of teaching stories, Recommendations and Suggestions for future research were mentioned.
