Abstract Evaluate the effect of applying cardiac rehabilitation exercise protocol for open heart surgery patient’s to reduce post-operative cardio-pulmonary complications. The study findings concluded that the cardiac rehabilitation exercise protocol in the form of deep breathing and coughing, incentive spirometer, early ambulation and R.O.M exercises had been demonstrated to be effective in inducing significant improvement in reducing the risk of post-operative cardio pulmonary complications. Also, Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise protocol after cardiac surgery yielded significant improvements in exercise tolerance regardless of the type of cardiac surgery or comorbidity. Finally, the present study has demonstrated that the regular exercises enhances the response of the hemodynamic variables which has an improvement in the functional capacity tested through six minute walk distance. |
