Abstract A highly rapid, sensitive, and selective method for the determination of trace amounts of zinc, cadmium and mercury in some environmental samples based on the formation of six coloured complexes by using two different azo compounds 5-amino-2-(phenyldiazenyl)phenol and/or 5-amino-2-(p-tolyldiazenyl)phenol as complexing agents and their preconcentration and separation using solid phase and cloud point extraction techniques and studying the factors affecting the analytical parameters including absorption spectra, effect of acidity, effect of surfactants, effect of reagent concentration, Stability of the chromogenic system and effect of foreign ions then testing the applicability of the proposed procedures on determination of tested metals in some water, food, soil, biological and environmental samples. |
