Abstract Abstract: Background: NLRP3 inflammasome is a high molecular weight complex of proteins and is relevant for several human allergic and inflammatory disorders including allergic dermatitis as atopic dermatitis and chronic urticaria. Objective: to clarify the relation between polymorphism in inflmmasome gene in chronic spontaneous urticaria patients and atopic dermatitis patients.Methodology: Inflammasome gene(NLRP3) polymorphism detection using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) technique in CSU patients and AD patients. Results: There is statistically significant difference between the studied groups regarding polymorphism or alleles where presence of C allele significantly increases risk of CSU by 2.22 folds and presence of G allele significantly increases risk of AD by 2.33 folds. Conclusion: Inflammasome gene (NLRP3) polymorphism can be a significant factor in predisposition to CSU or AD. |
