Abstract

The current study was delineated to evaluate the possible growth promoting effect, protective effect, immunostimulant effect and biochemical improvement of both dried S. platensis and C. vulgaris on the response to A. hydrophila vaccine in Nile tilapia (O. niloticus).
In the experiment, 270 apparently healthy a live O. niloticus was allocated into 5 equal groups for each experiment (each group has three replicates; 45 fish/ group except control group has six replicates; 90 fish/ group). The diet was given four times daily. The feeding period was lasted for 60 days after that were allocated control group into 2 equal groups so become 6 groups each group contain 45 fish and transfer them to glass aquaria to make challenge test for each experiment.
Experimental design in both experiments as follows:-
• group 1 fed on basal diet.
• group 2 fed on basal diet supplemented with 0.5% S. platensis or C. vulgaris.
• group 3 fed on basal diet supplemented with 1% S. platensis or C. vulgaris.
