Abstract Summary This case- control study was conducted on 110 patients. group I accounts for 40 patients while group II accounts for 70 patients. The majority of them were females (60.91 %) and the mean age of studied cases ranged from 25-70 years (mean in study group 54.475 ± 8.921 years, while the mean in control group 47.986 ± 13.530). In both group I & group II, All the patients had done Plain CT first as routine investigation, also all the patients has done CT angiography, only 20 patients of group I have done DSA. While in group II, 35 patients have done DSA. All the data from both CT angiography and DSA were analyzed and the anatomical variations of AComA complex were categorized into 10 types: Type I: typical configuration. Type II: hypoplastic AComA. Type III: aplastic AComA. Type IV: unilateral A1 anterior cerebral a. segment hypoplasia. Type V: unilateral aplasia of A1 ACA segment. Type VI: common trunk of ACA with also absence of AComA. Type VII: presence of the third A2 ACA segment (median artery of the corpus callosum). Type VIII: unilateral hypoplasia of A1 ACA segment and A2 ACA segment (bihemispheric ACA). Type IX: unilateral A2 ACA segment aplasia (Azygos ACA). Type X: duplicated AComA |
