Abstract This thesis introduces an optimal design for solar energy systems to satisfy the power demand and get the minimum levelized cost of electricity. In addition, this thesis addresses a mathematical modelling for central tower receiver power plant with thermal energy storage. Furthermore, a facile controllable scheme based on an artificial neural network technique has been adopted. Finally, the impact of CSP technology on the penetration of PV system has been analyzed. The results prove that the reduction in levelized cost of electricity through 2030 for the concentrated solar power plant is greater than that of photovoltaic system. Also, the concentrated solar power plant has a significant positive impact on the level of penetration of the PV system and on the reliability of the system. |
