Objectives of the study: The problem of the study lies in the abundance of petroleum resources in the Sultanate of Oman, with high oil revenues, and an increase in the proportion of its contributions to the gross domestic product, where the contribution of oil revenues amounted to approximately 74.1% of the total in 1997, 65% in 1998, 74.4% in 1999, where we considered these years as the basis for comparison, while the contribution rate in 2006 reached (77.1%), and the contribution of oil revenues is still the main resource of the state’s revenues until 2018 by about 71%, and the Sultanate’s oil reserves are estimated at the end of 2017 about 4740 billion In 2018, the oil reserves increased by about 4791 billion barrels, while the daily output of crude oil M reached one million barrels in January 2018, which are not few, but is the optimal use of these revenues from oil wealth that leads to the diversification of the structure of the Omani economy, which still depends on oil revenues as a primary source of revenue. This study was presented through the introductory chapter: We address in it the development of the indicators of the Omani economy, the first chapter: We address in it examples of the experiences of some countries that the Sultanate can benefit from such as Norway, the Netherlands and Malaysia, Chapter Two: We address in it the effect of changing oil prices on the Omani economy and the available oil alternatives which It is expected to transform the Omani economy from the rentier economy to the systematic, multi-sectoral economy, and how the Sultanate can take advantage of its resources and other non-oil capabilities such as industry, mineral wealth, fisheries, and tourism, and take advantage of the Sultanate’s strategic geographical location They became alternatives to oil wealth. ,, In the end, we must strongly confirm that we must not take oil and its low prices as a pretext for the severe deficit in the state’s budget, but rather we should blame ourselves despite the existence of a long-term strategic plan but it was not implemented accurately and with a clear timetable.
