Abstract
The present study demonstrates high level of D dimer and fibrinogen in prostate cancer patients than in benign prostatic hyperplasia. High levels of D dimer and fibrinogen was attributed to different mechanisms of which release of protasomes is an important one. Finally, hypercoagulable state in prostate cancer patients is fatal problem due to Disseminated intravascular coagulable state and venous thromboembolism. Further studies are needed to detect effectiveness of coagulation marker (D dimer: fibrinogen) as a prognostic marker of prostate cancer so early detection may improve clinical outcome.
