Abstract

The present study aims at employing nuclear techniques such as Hyper Pure Germanium (HPGe), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) and UV-visible Spectrophotometer to solve technical problems that face the analyst and inspector in the nuclear field.
The first issue is the verification of standard nuclear materials which is done through using HPGe and gamma software such as MCNP code after that a developed method was applied to predict the count rate in case of detectors of unknown specifications. ISOCS software was used for solving this issue by the count rate and absolute efficiency ratio.
Another issue in this thesis is performing a correlation between EDX measurements and gamma parameters for uranium oxides to give this information to inspectors. This correlation was used as a second phase for (CCC) software. Finally, UV-visible spectrophotometer was used to verify or characterize samples in the liquid form.
