Abstract Summary 132 Summary In this thesis study investigation done to find a possible correlation of GSV diameters measured at the sapheno-femoral junction, the proximal thigh, the distal thigh, below the knee, in the mid leg and there relation to the reflux. Started by a brief review of anatomy of veins of lower limb and the most common variations that may help in successful treatment. Also, study discussed the pathophysiology and etiology of varicose veins. This study involved 100 limbs from outpatient vascular clinic which presented with varicose vein. Assessment: history taking involved previous DVT, surgery, any co-morbidity, clinical examination general and local including CEAP classification, Duplex u/s Anatomical and functional survey of GSV was carried by Toshiba Aplio 400 series machine The study evaluated GSV diameter measurement at the sapheno-femoral junction (SFJ), at the proximal thigh, at the distal thigh, below the knee, mid leg in correlation to reflux Patients were classified into 5 groups: group I SFJ reflux group II proximal Thigh GSV reflux group III distal thigh and Above knee GSV reflux group IV below knee GSV reflux group V mid leg GSV reflux |
