Abstract This chapter is dedicated to summarizing different chapters of this thesis as well as illustrating the conclusions from the above-mentioned work as follows: First Chapter (Introduction) includes general information about Western Desert, Egypt, and El Hamra Oil Company that owns the Alam El Bueib 3C oil field (the main focus of the thesis). It discussed the exploration history of the western desert which started since 1937; it showed the exploration efforts done by some major oil companies in the oil business such as Phillips, Shell, and Apache that shaped the current economically significant oil production from different Western Desert oil Fields. This chapter also illustrated the exact location of the Alam El Bueib 3C field inside the Northern Part of the Western Desert, Egypt. The most important part of this chapter revolves around the aim of the study which can be defined as the establishment of the geometry and reservoir distribution of the Hydrocarbon bearing Sands within Alam El-Bueib Formation, carry out a risk assessment for each one of these Hydrocarbon bearing Sands in a separate way and accordingly calculate a risked reserve estimate for every potential sand body separately. |
