Abstract
Osteoporosis is a skeletal asymptomatic metabolic progressive disease marked by decreased bone mass and decay in bone microarchitecture that led to decreased bone strength, increased bone fragility and susceptibility to fractures with time. Osteoporosis affect mainly women as there are nearly 200 million women worldwide who suffer from osteoporosis and considering the elderly Egyptian women population, there are approximately 28.4 % of this population suffers from postmenopausal osteoporosis.
